Davidson football mined talent both in-state and out-of-state as it built what it believes to be a strong 2024 signing class. The Wildcats added seven more prospects to the roster this week to join the 14 who inked during the December early period.

Eight players with North Carolina hometowns are listed in this class, including Will Jones from nearby Hough High School.

Davidson (7-4 in 2023) has had the top rushing attack in FCS football the past four seasons. The Wildcats also led FCS in scoring (40 points per game) and were fifth in total offense (463.2 yards per game) in 2023. This recruiting class aims to continue that trend.

In addition to Jones, the ‘Cats restocked the offense with explosive slot AJ Adams from Shelby (Crest HS), athlete Brodey Berg from Cincinnati (Anderson HS), slot Jack Fennell from Butler, Pa. (North Catholic HS) and athlete Will McCurdy from Park City, Utah (Park City HS).

Per MaxPreps.com, Adams caught 66 passes this past season at Crest for 1,091 yards and 12 scores. Berg rushed for 1,513 yards in 15 games as a prep senior, with 32 touchdowns. Berg also scored 31 TDs during the 2022 season.

Davidson also added a quarterback, Casey Bullock (6-1, 200) from Medina, Ohio (St. Edward HS).

Other recruits with North Carolina ties include linebacker Rodney Unnasch (Kings Mountain), defensive end Nakoma Scott (Lumberton), defensive back Shay Ragland (High Point), defensive lineman Alex Jones (Greensboro), linebacker Jayden Ferguson (Raleigh) and defensive lineman Julian Farrish (Roxboro).

“We are excited to welcome seven more Wildcats to our Davidson football family,” coach Scott Abell said in a release announcing the February signees. “I would like to thank our staff for working so hard to bring such quality people, students and athletes to our program. What a great day in Cat Country!”

Davidson will begin spring ball on March 19 and will hold its spring game on April 20 at 4:30 p.m.
