High School/Previous School: West Caldwell HS/Western Carolina

Notes: Projected as first-team all-Sun Belt Conference in three major preseason publications: Phil Steele’s College Football 2023, Lindy’s Sports College Football Annual and Athlon Sports College Football Preview … Will be one of two Appalachian State player representatives at Sun Belt Media Days on July 26 in New Orleans …

Has already played in 46 college games, the past two years at Appalachian State and the two previous years at Western Carolina. He has started 25 games for the Mountaineers, missing just one in 2021.

Earned third-team all-Sun Belt a year ago. Started six games at right guard and the last six at center. Projected as the starting center this season …

In his first game at center a year ago, App State rushed for 469 yards in a blowout win over Georgia State … Allowed only one hit on the quarterback during his six starts at center … Ranked fourth among starting Sun Belt centers/guards in total blocking grade from PFF.com after playing 797 total snaps … Helped the Mountaineers receive recognition on the Joe Moore Midseason Honor Roll for the nation’s top offensive line.

Had a banner 2021 season, starting all 13 games at right guard … Was second on the team with 61 knockdown blocks and didn’t allow any sacks. The App State line was a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award.

Started 21 games for Western Carolina before transferring to App State. Was named a HERO Sports FCS Sophomore All-American in 2020 … Also made the all-Southern Conference first team … Was voted a Phil Steele third-team FCS Freshman All-American … Also made the SoCon’s Academic Honor Roll.
