A 67-yard touchdown run from Sincere Baines to start the third quarter fueled the offense for the UNC Pembroke football team as the Braves defeated West Liberty 37-19 on Saturday at the West Family Stadium.
The victory for the Braves (2-2, 1-2 MEC) snapped a two-game skid and marked the first victory on the road this season. The Hilltoppers (0-4, 0-3 CC) have now dropped their last four games and fall to 4-2 when playing on homecoming.

Colin Johnson completed 11 of his 24 pass attempts for 180 passing yards. Johnson rushed 14 times for 60 yards.
Diaz Alexander caught a pair of passes for 74-yards, while EJ Gatling caught four passes for 59 yards. Sincere Baines rushed five times for 96 yards and one touchdown.
Justin Foreman and LaTrell Jewsome each finished with eight tackles. Sean Hill registered five solo tackles and one assist, while also scoring a touchdown from a 54-yard interception return.
UNC Pembroke finished with 195 rushing yards while West Liberty had 74 yards on the ground. However, the Hilltoppers logged 272 passing yards while the Braves had 180 passing yards.
The victory marks the third consecutive victory for UNCP against WLU. The Braves improve to 4-1 all-time against the Hilltoppers.
