In terms of pure stats, Catawba’s Preston Brown continues to be the most prolific quarterback in North Carolina.
Brown leads the Old North State, all divisions, in total passing yards (1,718) and touchdowns (16) after week six. He is second behind UNC’s Drake Maye in yards per game, averaging 286.3. Maye, who has played one fewer game with the 5-0 Tar Heels, leads the state — by far — in yards-per-game, with 325.8.
Campbell’s Hajj-Malik Williams has the top overall completion percentage among North Carolina quaerterbacks. In six games, Williams is hitting on 74.2 percent of his passes, ahead of Davidson’s Coulter Cleland (73.8) and Maye (72.1).
Williams is fourth in all of Division I FCS in total passing yards. Brown is eighth for Division II players. Maye is 20th among FBS passers in total yardage.
Here are the top 14 North Carolina quarterbacks, statistically speaking, sorted by total passing yards, touchdowns, yards-per-game and completion percentage.
