Many of the dates are still TBD, but Appalachian State knows all of the opponents that will comprise its 2025 football schedule.

The Sun Belt released its list of cross-divisional match-ups Thursday, and the Mountaineers learned they will play Arkansas State at home and Southern Miss on the road from the West Division. These games pair with the other six Sun Belt rivalry meetings against East Division partners Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, James Madison, Marshall and Old Dominion.

App State’s 2025 football schedule will kick off on Thursday, Aug. 28 against the Charlotte 49ers from the American Athletic Conference. The much-anticipated match-up will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, home of the Carolina Panthers.

Appalachian State will host Lindenwood, an FCS squad, in its home opener Saturday, Sept. 6. The other two non-conference games will come against foes from the western U.S. – a road trip to Boise State on Sept. 27 and a home game against Oregon State from the revamped Pac-12 on Oct. 4.

ASU will be under new management this season. The Mountaineers dismissed head coach Shawn Clark after the conclusion of the 2024 campaign and hired former South Carolina offensive coordinator and NFL assistant Dowell Loggains to lead the program into 2025.

App State finished 5-6 this past season.
