North Carolina is home to 35 college football programs and more than 400 public and private high school football teams. NC Football News is a digital media outlet created in 2023 to follow this vast gridiron landscape. Our mission for 2024 is to:
* Provide positive media coverage of college and high school football through our Web site (NCFootballNews.com) and social media outlets (Twitter/X and Facebook).
* Focus our college coverage efforts on the “smaller schools” in our state that don’t normally get as many major headlines (FCS, D2, D3, NAIA and Junior College levels).
* Tell compelling stories about our state’s players, coaches, teams, fans, schools, championships & achievements.
* Provide the “nuts and bolts” fans/followers expect from a statewide football media site: up-to-date schedules, scores, statistics, standings, rankings and more.
* Promote businesses and organizations with a strong North Carolina base as they help us promote college and high school football through their advertising and content sponsorship.
NC Football News creator/publisher Eric Lusk is a North Carolina native with more than 15 years of sports journalism experience covering high school, college and professional sports in North Carolina and Arizona. College football has been his passion since he was a kid growing up going to NC State games with his family (and remembers when the Wolfpack’s home stadium had a grassy hill, C.A. on the P.A., and a double-wide in the sky for a press box).
