Appalachian State football continues to build out its 2026 recruiting class with a strong wave of summer commitments. Two more prospects made pledges to coach Dowell Loggains and the Mountaineers over the weekend:
- Jarvis Potts (Cornelius | Hough HS): one of the top offensive linemen in North Carolina
- Brice Williamson (Hartwell, GA | Prince Avenue Christian): an all-region tight end from the Peach State
The duo gives App State 13 commitments from the Class of 2026 as of June 15. Potts represents the Mountaineers’ fourth North Carolina commit this month and the fifth overall. No FBS school in our state has more in-state pledges.
Potts helped pave the way for an offense that generated 5,000+ yards in 2024. Hough finished 12-2, went undefeated in conference play and advanced to the fourth round of the 4A playoffs before losing to eventual state champ Grimsley by a touchdown.
Williams played on both sides of the ball in 2024 for Prince Avenue Christian. He earned 2A all-region honors as a tight end. He made 29 catches in 2024 for 375 yards and six touchdowns for the 2A region champions.
Appalachian State has been building up its trenches with recent commitments. Potts joins Grimsley’s Nick Kashubara on the offensive front. Williamson and Mooresville’s Gavin Barber give the Mountaineers two formidable tight end prospects. Marvin Ridge High’s Manny Lewis is a stout defensive lineman.
Appalachian State opens Loggains first season as head coach on Friday, Aug. 29 against Charlotte in Bank of America Stadium.
