A speedy cornerback from the Charlotte metro and a linebacker gearing up for a Georgia state championship headline the beginnings of Campbell’s 2025 recruiting class.
The Camels, who compete at the FCS level, began restocking their roster for 2025 by inking five players during the early signing period last week.
When completed, this will be coach Braxton Harris’ first full recruiting class since taking the head job last offseason. The Camels inked prospects from four states –two from North Carolina — and from five different position groups.
Campbell posted a 3-9 record this past season in Harris’ debut, 1-7 in the Coastal Athletic Association.
Here is an overview of the Camels’ recruiting class thus far:
Campbell Football Recruiting | Early National Signing Day
Bryce Loftin | CB | Mint Hill | Independence HS
One of 16 all-conference players from powerhouse Independence High, Loftin will bring a speedy presence to the Campbell secondary. The 5-11, 175-pounder boasts a 10.68 time in the 100 meters and a 4.06 GPA in the classroom. Loftin picked off two passes, broke up 10 more and recorded 44 tackles for “Big I” this past season.
Chinua Ezeigbo | WR | Concord | Central Cabarrus HS
The 6-5, 200-pounder gives Camels great size as a pass catcher, with a similar stature to current all-conference receiver Sincere Brown. He has been chosen for the annual Queen City Senior Bowl, an all-state game featuring the top players from the Charlotte metro area.
Brady Ambrose | TE | Tega City, SC | Catawba Ridge HS
The 6-4, 230-pounder picked Campbell over Ivy League offers like Brown and Dartmouth. He caught 21 passes for 313 yards and five TDs in seven games this past season. He has a 4.8 weighted GPA and plans to major in chemical engineering, according to FortMillPrepSports.com.
“Campbell is an awesome place,” Ambrose told the Web site. “They just got a new head coach this past year. I am going to be his first recruiting class and I am going to be a part of what the program is going to be about for several years … It hit with me going on a visit, where everything was so personalized, unlike going on other visits where there are 50 kids going on the same visit. It was a very family centered atmosphere, which resonated with me.”
Ambrose said he appreciated how Campbell stuck with him despite an injury this season. “During my first game back against Indian Land, the tight ends coach came down to watch me in that first game. It really hit hard, that they cared about me and came to watch me. They have been right by my side.”

AJ Benton | LB | Roswell, Ga. | Milton HS
The 6-0, 220-pounder will play for a state 5A championship on Dec. 17 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Benton has been a tackling machine, racking up 85 thus far, including eight in the 5A semifinals this past Friday. He also has made 10.5 tackles-for-loss. Milton is 14-0 this season.
Dylan Congdon | OL | Dover, OH | Tuscarawas HS
The 6-8, 310-pounder played offensive and defensive tackle for his prep team this past season. He received an offer from the Camels in October. He plans to major in sports management.
