Recruiting Nuggets
Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman and staff have recruited North Carolina’s elite talent well the past couple of years. Hasan is the latest from the Old North State pipeline to pledge to the Fighting Irish.
Hasan boasted 37 offers, according to 247Sports, and chose Notre Dame over North Carolina, Miami, Georgia and Ohio State, among others.
“Along with being a talented corner with great coverage skills and prototypical size and arm length to boot, the Irish are getting a great return specialist who is a legitimate threat to go the distance with the ball in his hands,” Bryan Ault from Irish Illustrated wrote on the day Hasan committed. “(He) is a game breaker with tremendous speed and athleticism.
Campbell was the first school to offer in summer 2024. Louisville was the first Power 4 school to extend an offer in January 2025 and things exploded from there. Notre Dame’s offer came during a spring “Pot of Gold Day” on St. Patrick’s Day.
Hasan took multiple unofficial visits during the most recent football season, including to Notre Dame, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, Penn State and North Carolina. He announced a top six of Florida State, UNC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina and Tennessee on Dec. 1.
On the day of his commitment, Hasan was listed as the No. 1 player in North Carolina’s Class of 2027 by both ESPN and Rivals. He was ranked No. 2 by 247Sports.
