Tyler Haines has been the coach of the Catawba Indians since 2023. He has compiled a 8-14 record over his first two seasons. Haines also coached at Urbana (D2) from 2015-19 before the school’s closure. His alma mater is Defiance College.

The Catawba Indians play home football games at Shuford Stadium. The stadium, which has been home to Catawba football since 1925, seats 4,000 and has a capacity for 5,000 fans.

Catawba’s football history covers more than a century, starting in 1906. All of the school’s sports programs have been part of the South Atlantic Conference since 1989. Catawba won its first-ever football league championship in 1932 and had a dominate run during the early 2000s. Three teams from 2000-07 won 11 games and advanced to the NCAA playoffs.
