Hometown Haul: Charlotte Adds 3rd 2026 Commit After Big Recruiting Weekend

Charlotte football’s spring showcase weekend just got even more productive.

The 49ers added a third commitment to their 2026 football recruiting class over the past three days, this time from the Queen City. Defensive back Josh Hines (Charlotte | Myers Park HS) joins offensive lineman Eisa Evans (Pfafftown | Reagan HS) and wide receiver Kadarus Hainsworth (Spartanburg, SC | Mountain View Prep) in pledging for new head coach Tim Albin.

🏠 Hometown DB Josh Hines Joins the 49ers

Hines, a 5-11, 175-pound defensive back from Charlotte’s Myers Park High School, is the latest addition to Charlotte’s 2026 recruiting class. He was a 2024 All-Conference selection and recorded 28 tackles, 6 pass deflections, and an interception in 9 games last season.

Hines held a long list of offers, including West Virginia, Appalachian State, East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Delaware, Gardner-Webb, and Miami (Ohio), before choosing the hometown program.

💪 OL Eisa Evans Chose Niners Over ECU

Evans becomes Charlotte’s first in-state commitment among rising high school seniors. The 6-6, 270-pounder played left tackle for Reagan last season. He also held an offer from East Carolina.

🏁 Prolific SC Wideout Joins Growing ’26 Class

Hainsworth (6-0 | 160) hauled in 40 catches last season for 947 yards and 16 touchdowns. He recorded four touchdowns in a game against St. Joseph’s Catholic and three each against Crescent and Asheville School. Mountain View Prep went 12-1 a year ago. 

Hainsworth had multiple D1 offers in addition to Charlotte, including East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, James Madison, Liberty, Charleston Southern and East Tennessee State.
