Charlotte football uniforms typically go heavy on green with hints of gold and white in the trim or pants.

The 49ers unveiled a new look on Thursday for its upcoming season opener against James Madison. The Niners plan to take the field under the lights at Jerry Richardson Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 31 in their new Gold Rush threads.

The look includes a gold helmet and a gold jersey with white pants.

The helmet, in a flat finish, features a solid white stripe down the middle, a white Charlotte “C” on one side and the player’s number in white on the other.

The Gold Rush jersey features double stripes in white on both shoulders and the word “Charlotte” in white block letters trimmed in black across the front. The player number on the jersey also is trimmed in black.

The white pants feature double golden stripes down the sides. The only green on these uniforms comes in small doses — a small “C” logo on the front of the helmet, the words “Charlotte” along the back of the helmet and a Nike swoosh on the front of the jersey.
