Paul Johnson has been the coach of the Chowan Hawks since 2023. He has compiled a 3-17 record in his two seasons with the program. He previously has been a coach at Marshall, West Virginia, Charleston and Bloomsburg.
What is the name of Chowan’s football stadium?
The Chowan Hawks play football at Garrison Stadium, which opened in the early 1960s. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 fans.
When did Barton first start playing football?
The football program played its first season in 1920, when the school was known as Atlantic Christian College. The school fielded teams from 1920-30 and 1946-50 before disbanding the program. Led by school president Doug Searcy, Barton revived its football program in time for the 2020 season, its first in 70 years.
