GREENSBORO – Guilford College continued its dominance of the annual Soup Bowl rivalry, beating crosstown rival Greensboro College 14-0 on Saturday afternoon at Pride Field.

Guilford set the tone early with a 17-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jaelan Brown to Malik Woodard in the first quarter. The game remained a defensive battle until running back Josh Campbell sealed the win with a 2-yard rushing score late in the fourth.

Guilford’s defense was the story of the game, forcing five turnovers, including two interceptions by Jaylan Richardson, who later earned ODAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

The Quakers racked up 198 rushing yards, with Campbell and Woodard leading the charge. Greensboro’s offense never found its rhythm, managing just 122 passing yards and 67 rushing yards.

This marks Guilford’s third shutout over Greensboro in the rivalry’s history, extending their all-time series lead to 16-8. The Quakers are the first North Carolina college team to earn a shutout this season.

Guilford College will host Methodist University on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m., marking its first home game of the season. Meanwhile, Greensboro College will face Averett University at home on the same day, with kickoff scheduled for noon.
