Campbell football picked up a big in-state commitment over the weekend when Middle Creek High School defensive end Davis Prichard announced his pledge to the Camels.

Prichard, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound edge rusher from Apex, has seen his stock rise over the past several months. A standout at multiple spring combines and college camps, he earned offers from Gardner-Webb, North Carolina Central and Georgetown.

Despite those opportunities, Prichard locked in his commitment to Campbell and head coach Braxton Harris on July 19 after an official visit this month, giving the Camels a high-upside pass rusher with length, intelligence and a relentless motor.

🗣️ “He has excellent bend and long arms, which he continues to get better at using to keep tackles away from his body,” Prep RedZone noted after evaluating him at a spring combine event. “You can see the development that has taken place between the end of the season and now, and I think we’ll see even better results as a senior.”

Prichard certainly made an impact during his junior campaign. He led Middle Creek with 14 sacks and 19 tackles-for-loss, totaling 68 tackles, two forced fumbles and eight quarterback hurries. His performance earned him all-conference honors in the Southwest Wake Athletic Conference.

Middle Creek, coached by Andrae Jacobs, finished 6-5 last season (6-1 in league play), losing a tough first-round playoff matchup to eventual 4A East champion Rolesville.

Prichard, who carries a 3.7 GPA, will look to anchor the Mustangs’ defensive front once again in 2025. Middle Creek opens its season Aug. 22 against Fuquay-Varina. Prichard also has played tight end and outside linebacker.
