The 2024 college football season is still loading, but East Carolina and Charlotte both learned this week who their conference opponents will be in 2025.
The American Athletic Conference revealed its scheduling model for next season on Thursday. Each league team will continue to play eight conference games — four at home and four on the road.
East Carolina will host Army, Charlotte, Memphis and Tulsa at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in 2025, while traveling to Florida Atlantic, Temple, UTSA and Tulane.
Charlotte will welcome North Texas, Rice, Temple and UTSA to Jerry Richardson Stadium next fall and will visit Army, East Carolina, South Florida and Tulane.
Specific dates for AAC games won’t be revealed until the league’s full schedule release in February. The American is now a 14-team conference with no divisions, with the top two squads in the final season standings playing in the league championship game.
ECU’s schedule for next season appears complete. Barring any unexpected changes, the Pirates’ non-conference opponents will be NC State (road, Aug. 30), Campbell (home, Sept. 6), Coastal Carolina (road, Sept. 13) and BYU (home, Sept. 20).
Charlotte also has 12 opponents set for 2025. The season will open at Bank of America Stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers, in the Duke’s Mayo Classic on Thursday, Aug. 28 against Appalachian State. North Carolina will visit Richardson Stadium on Sept. 6, and Monmouth will play at Charlotte on Sept. 13.
The final non-conference foe is a doozy: The 49ers will go on the road to face the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 22.
