Brevard spoils Huntingdon homecoming, rallies for 25-21 win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – James Woods and Chase Pfeiffer both returned interceptions for touchdowns, and Brevard rallied to beat Huntingdon 25-21 on Saturday afternoon in USA South Conference action.

The Division III Tornados spoiled the Hawks’ homecoming and won for the first time in program history in Montgomery. Pfeiffer’s 23-yard pick-six with 7:52 left in the game provided the winning points. Woods’ INT return covered 60 yards in the second quarter.

  • Brevard’s defense recorded 10 tackles-for-loss and three sacks. Trey Williams and Robert Dorsey forced fumbles.
  • Jadien Deaton had a 25-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter to pull Brevard within 21-18
  • Hugo Taylor got Brevard on the board with a 23-yard field goal
  • Huntingdon had built a 21-10 halftime lead but couldn’t find the end zone after intermission. The Hawks got second quarter touchdown runs from Troy Garner (19 yards) and De’Roderick Hep (3 yards), while Dorian Smith completed a 3-yard TD pass to Brody Covington.
