GREENSBORO, N.C. — Guilford College released its 2025 football schedule via social media Tuesday. The 10-game slate is headlined by a primetime edition of the Soup Bowl rivalry with Greensboro College and road trips to the two newest members of the revamped Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
The season opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 6 as the Quakers host crosstown foe Greensboro College under the lights at 7 p.m. in the annual Soup Bowl – a tradition that raises money for local charities in the Gate City. Guilford has won eight straight in the series, including a grind-it-out 14-0 victory last season. The Quakers lead the all-time series 15-8, with their last loss coming in a 14-13 nail-biter back in 2012.
The following week, Guilford travels to Methodist (Sept. 13), another non-conference opponent from in-state, before launching into a revamped ODAC slate that features two new members.
New ODAC Era: Gallaudet and Roanoke Join the Fray
Guilford will be among the first ODAC teams to face both newcomers in 2025. On Oct. 4, the Quakers visit Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. — an associate member of the ODAC in football only starting this fall. The Bison went 5-4 last fall in the ECFC and bring a unique identity as a federally chartered university for the deaf and hard of hearing.
A month later, on Nov. 1, Guilford makes a historic trip to Roanoke College, which is reviving its football program for the first time since 1942. The Maroons will be playing their inaugural ODAC season.
Ferrum College has departed the ODAC. The Panthers will move up to Division II in 2025, joining Conference Carolinas.

Can the Quakers Rebound?
The Quakers are looking to bounce back from a 3-7 campaign in 2024 that included a strong 3-0 non-conference start but a winless run through ODAC play (0-7). Reigning league champion Randolph-Macon went 7-0, while Washington & Lee and Shenandoah each finished 5-2.
Head coach Brad Davis, a Guilford alum and former standout offensive lineman (Class of 2008), returns for his fifth full season at the helm. Davis was named interim head coach in October 2020 and has led the Quakers through a transitional period.
