NC high school football commit tracker: Feb. 6 update

Barton College has been loading up on commitments recently

College football’s national signing day is Wednesday, Feb. 7. Here are players from North Carolina high schools who have announced commitments in recent days.

Logan Saunders (Bailey | Southern Nash HS)

The three-year varsity starter and two-time Big East all-conference performer plans to sign his letter of intent to attend Barton College this Wednesday. Saunders’ Southern Nash squad won its conference and posted a 10-2 record. Saunders picked off nine passes during his career. He started at safety and quarterback as a prep senior.

Corbin Kerr (Teachey | Wallace-Rose Hill HS)

The 5-10, 200-pound senior running back and outside linebacker will take his talents to Barton College, he announced on social media. Kerr eclipsed 100 rushing yards in all 12 games this past season, finishing with 2,252 yards total with 26 touchdowns (per MaxPreps.com). His longest rush covered 99 yards.

Kerr tallied 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior. He rushed for 1,112 yards and 12 scores during his sophomore campaign.

Chancellor Bryant (Charlotte | Ardrey Kell HS)

The all-conference and all-state defensive back returned interceptions for touchdowns in multiple games this past season. Bryant has announced his commitment to Livingstone College on social media this week. He was conference defensive player of the year in 2023.

Braylon Canales (Concord| Robinson HS)

The 6-3, 290-pounder has announced that he will commit to Barton College. Canales played center and guard for Robinson High. He earned all-conference status in addition to being a three-year honor roll student.

Caden Hicks (Holly Springs| Holly Springs HS)

The 6-1, 255-pound defensive end/defensive tackle standout announced his commitment to Barton College. Hicks helped Holly Springs win nine games the past two seasons. Per MaxPreps.com, Hicks posted 10.5 tackles-for-loss, 6.5 sacks and 65 total tackles in 2023. He averaged roughly six tackles per game and picked off a pass.

Tate Gibbs (Pinetown| Northside HS)

The 6-3, 285-pound senior, who played on both sides of the ball for Northside, has announced his commitment to Barton College. Gibbs lined up at offensive tackle and defensive tackle. In 28 career games spanning three seasons, Gibbs recorded 84 pancake blocks, per his bio page at MaxPreps.com.

Jake Lynch (Mooresville| Lake Norman HS)

The 6-3, 300-pounder has announced his intentions to join Barton College‘s program for 2024. Lynch moved to Lake Norman in 2023 after playing at Cox Mill from 2021-23. Lynch primarily played offensive guard for Lake Norman.

Luke Ellington (Holly Springs| Holly Springs HS)

The 6-4, 245-pounder has already changed his Twitter/X profile to reflect his commitment to Barton College. Ellington played tight end and defensive end as a prep senior at Holly Springs.

Miles Baucom (Charlotte | Myers Park HS)

The 6-1 wide receiver announced on social media that he has committed to East Carolina. Baucom scored nine touchdowns for Myers Park this past season and collected all-conference recognition.

Zi’Myier Davis (Raleigh | Wakefield HS)

The 6-0, 155-pounder wide receiver plans to continue his football career at Louisburg College, just one county over from Wakefield. He announced his commitment on social media on Monday evening.
