One of the top interior offensive linemen in the state has committed to play in the MEAC next season.

Hough High center Kiande Marsh announced on social media last week that he will join South Carolina State’s program next season.

Marsh is considered a three-star prospect by some recruiting services. He’s now listed at 6-2, 315 pounds. He recorded more than 50 pancake blocks a season ago.

Marsh made the all-Charlotte Observer first team after the 2023 season, and prep sports media outlet HighSchoolOT ranked him in the “elite” category among offensive linemen heading into the 2024 season. That list only includes 11 other players.

Marsh earned MVP honors for his position at the 2024 Under Armour Next camp in Charlotte.

According to On3.com, Marsh held offers from Chattanooga, Alcorn State, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Morgan State, Washington & Lee, Hampden-Sydney and Shorter.

Chennis Berry, formerly of Benedict, takes over the South Carolina State program this season. The charismatic coach replaces legendary Bulldog chief Oliver “Buddy” Pough, who retired after 2023.
