Cardinal Gibbons OL Jack Sheehan commits to Old Dominion

Rising senior had multiple in-state and out-of-state D1 offers

Cardinal Gibbons OL Jack Sheehan announced on Twitter/X this week (@Jack_sheehan71) that he has committed to play for Old Dominion.

Jack Sheehan, an all-conference and all-state offensive lineman from Cardinal Gibbons, has announced his college football plans.

The rising senior, who lists at 6-foot-6, 310-pounds, has pledged a verbal commitment to Old Dominion University. The Monarchs compete in the FBS Sun Belt Conference.

Sheehan’s father, Michael Sheehan, played at East Carolina during the Steve Logan era.

Jack Sheehan’s offer sheet included the Pirates as well as a number of other FBS and FCS schools: Elon, Coastal Carolina, Marshall, Troy, Miami (Ohio) and Bethune-Cookman.

Cardinal Gibbons finished 12-3 last season, winning a conference title and advancing to the East Region final before falling to Hoggard. The Crusaders will open the 2024 campaign on Friday, Aug. 23 at Durham Jordan.

Sheehan has been announced as one of Cardinal Gibbons’ team captains. He was first-team all-Cap 6 last season.
