The 2025 Methodist football schedule will send the Monarchs on the road to start the season and feature an in-state rivalry-heavy finish to close out the year.

Methodist will open Sept. 6 at Shenandoah — an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) team coming off an 8-3 season and an appearance in the Cape Charles Bowl. That bowl is part of the Chesapeake Challenge, a postseason series between the ODAC and the Landmark Conference for teams that did not qualify for the NCAA playoffs.

The Monarchs will return home Sept. 13 to face Guilford, another ODAC opponent, before closing non-conference play Sept. 27 against Newport News Apprentice — a new addition to the ODAC ranks.

After that, Methodist will play seven straight USA South Athletic Conference games, including three straight against its in-state rivals to wrap up the regular season.

The Monarchs will host North Carolina Wesleyan on Nov. 1, celebrate homecoming and senior day against Brevard on Nov. 8, and travel to Greensboro on Nov. 15 for the regular season finale.

Methodist finished 1-9 last season (1-7 USA South), picking up its lone victory in a 17-14 win over Greensboro. Junior linebacker Omar Goodwin led the Monarchs defensively with 83 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks, earning honorable mention all-conference honors.

Head coach Keven Williams enters his 10th season leading the program. Methodist has struggled to recapture the momentum from its 7-2 season in 2021, but the Monarchs will hope a favorable home slate and late-season rivalries provide a spark.
