✅ North Carolina D3 Wrap-Up

Only one of our D3 teams won on Saturday, the Brevard Tornados. Here are highlights and takeaways from North Carolina D3 action:

  • Brevard jumped out to a 21-3 lead and then had to hold off a furious Southern Virginia rally. SVU scored three touchdowns over the final 15:27. Ethan Beamish threw for 274 yards and three TDs for the Tornados. Zion Fauntleroy-McDaniel rushed for 125 yards and a score. Both Adam Douglas (116 yards, 2 TDs) and Reggie Taylor II (102 yards, 1 TD) had big days receiving. Baylee Ramey made 13 tackles. Brandon Broughton and Quintrell Bowman had interceptions.
  • North Carolina Wesleyan continues to play an exciting brand of football. A win was elusive today, though. The Battling Bishops piled up 575 yards of offense. Javier Rice threw for 301 yards and two scores.
  • As mentioned above, NC Wesleyan’s Nahjiir Seagraves and Tyler Resper posted two of the top single-game offensive performances of the season in our state. Seagraves averaged 9.1 yards per carry, with TD runs of 75 and 70 yards. Resper had 12 catches for 226 yards, with a long reception of 57 yards. Mathias Winston made 14 tackles for the NCWU defense.
  • Tim McReynolds caught two TD passes in the second half to lift Huntingdon past Greensboro, which had led 10-3 at intermission. Shamar Privette scored the Pride’s only touchdown, with Reagan Sawyer adding a 20-yard field goal after an 18-play drive in the opening quarter.
  • Methodist got interceptions from Juw-El Huntley, Jaron Foreman and Christian Frazier, but struggled to generate offense against 4-1 LaGrange. The Monarchs were outgained 467-168.
  • Tristan Bailey notched his 15th career interception for Guilford, tying the school record during the school’s D3 era, but Shenandoah proved too much overall. Travis Burton added another 4.5 tackles-for-loss to his season resume.
