All five of North Carolina’ D3 football teams played today (Nov. 1), but only one emerged victorious. Braylon Knapp turned four of his nine completions into touchdowns throws, and North Carolina Wesleyan cruised past Methodist 48-17.
Guilford lost a nailbiter at Roanoke 21-20. Huntingdon roared back at Brevard, scoring 22 points in the fourth quarter for a 32-26 triumph. Greensboro fell 49-20 at home to LaGrange.

🏆 Biggest Win of the Day
Methodist ran 18 more plays and held the ball for nearly 13 minutes longer, but North Carolina Wesleyan made the most of its opportunities in all phases to roll past the Monarchs in Fayetteville 48-17.
Michael Pannell caught two of Braylon Knapp’s four TD throws, including a 55-yarder. He also returned a punt 61 yards for a score. Sean Cartwright hauled in a 66-yard touchdown, while Tyson Resper scored on a 17-yard pass play.
Nahjiir Seagraves finished with an even 100 rushing yards for NC Wesleyan, adding a touchdown on a short run. Savonte McKeithan’s 80-yard interception return for a TD put an exclamation mark on the Bishops’ victory.
North Carolina Wesleyan improved to 4-4 overall and 2-3 in USA South play. Methodist dropped to 1-7, 0-5.
⚡ Biggest Upset – Almost!
Guilford and Roanoke met on the football field for the first time since World War II, but the Quakers came up just short of victory.
Jonathan Brown returned an interception 85-yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter to pull Guilford within 21-20. But the extra point was missed.
The Quakers got the ball back three more times but lost a fumble and had to punt twice. Roanoke, which just restarted its football program after shutting it down in 1942, ran out the final 4:21.
Luke Hyatt completed a 24-yard TD pass to Shane Shapiro in the first quarter for Guilford. Caleb Robles got free for a 51-yard touchdown run in the third.

Despite giving up three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, Brevard still had a chance to beat Huntingdon on Saturday. The Tornados drove to the 1-yard-line with less than a minute to play. But a fourth-down rushing play was stacked up short of the goal line, and Huntingdon ran out the final 26 seconds on its comeback victory.’
Brevard led 10-0 in the first quarter after a Hayden Vandegriff 25-yard field goal and 35-yard TD pass from Ethan Beamish to Messiah Ramseur. Vandegriff hit three more field goals – from 39, 23 and 24 yards – then Jeremyah Lane returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown as the lead grew to 26-10.
Jake White threw four TD passes for Huntingdon, including three in the final quarter. His final scoring play came with 1:16 to go, a 26-yard strike to Terrell Copeland.
Methodist running back CJ Ferguson scored both of the Monarchs’ touchdowns against North Carolina Wesleyan. Ferguson finished with 112 rushing yards, averaging 6.2 yards per attempt.
Greensboro scored all 20 of its points against LaGrange in the second quarter. Cameron Turner completed a 29-yard touchdown pass to KJ Brown, then found the end zone twice on short-yardage runs.
