All five of North Carolina’s Division III football teams will be in action today (Saturday, Oct. 18). Only Guilford will be at home, however, hosting a nationally ranked Randolph-Macon squad at Appenzeller Field.

Brevard visits LaGrange, Greensboro heads to Belhaven, Methodist travels to Southern Virginia and North Carolina Wesleyan goes to Huntingdon.

✅ North Carolina D3 Wrap-Up

North Carolina Wesleyan (3-3, 1-2) handed Huntingdon its first USA South Conference loss, holding on for a 21-20 road triumph. Huntingdon scored a touchdown with 1:54 left, but the Hawks missed the extra point.

Nahjiir Seagraves continues to power NC Wesleyan’s rushing attack. The senior rushed for 154 yards on 25 carries and scored on a 33-yard run. This was the fifth time this season Seagraves has gained at least 100 yards.

Javier Rice threw two touchdown passes for the Battling Bishops. Sean Cartwright caught the first, a 39-yard play. Marti McKnight hauled in a 3-yard TD play in the third quarter.

Mathias Winston had seven tackles and forced a fumble for North Carolina Wesleyan. Savonte McKeithan picked off a pass in the returned it 29 yards.

Michael Hays rushed for 129 yards and scored a 37-yard touchdown with 1:39 left, leading LaGrange to a 17-10 conference victory over Brevard. The Tornados had held one of the top offenses in the USA South in check much of the day but couldn’t pull the upset. Zion Fauntleroy-McDaniel caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Ethan Beamish for Brevard’s only trip to the end zone. Hayden Vandegriff kicked a 34-yard field goal.

Tremel Carter had 2.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss in Methodist’s 30-13 loss at Southern Virginia. De’Kan Williams returned a fumble 82-yards for a touchdown. Ty Little threw an 11-yard TD pass to Bryson Ausby.

Greensboro had three interceptions returned for touchdowns and lost two more fumbles in a 41-26 loss at Belhaven. The Pride still managed a season high in scoring, getting their own defensive touchdown on a 55-yard scoop and score by Ziere Ray. Chase Altis threw two TD passes, and Reagan Sawyer hit a 30-yard field goal.

Guilford suffered a 47-0 home loss to No. 20/25 Randolph-Macon. The Quakers managed just 97 yards of total offense. Nick Iannone recorded 10 tackles for Guilford, while Travis Burton added nine stops and 2.5 tackles-for-loss to an already impressive season resume.
