With spring football set to begin this week, North Carolina Wesleyan has posted its 2025 schedule.
The Battling Bishops have unveiled a 10-game slate, which includes three non-conference contests and seven USA South match-ups.
North Carolina Wesleyan will open on a Thursday night, Sept. 4 against visiting Averett from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Bishops and Cougars met in the opener a year ago, with Averett prevailing 41-29.
NC Wesleyan will play at the Apprentice School in Newport News on Sept. 13. The Apprentice School competes at the D3 level in the New South Atlantic Conference. A home game against Sewanee from the Southern Athletic Association on Sept. 20 closes out the non-conference loop.
The Bishops will play home conference games against instate rival Greensboro, Belhaven and Southern Virginia. USA South road trips await to Brevard, Methodist, Huntingdon and LaGrange.
North Carolina Wesleyan finished 4-6 last season, 4-4 in the USA South. The Battling Bishops under coach Jeff Filkovski closed strong, winning three of the last four and four of the last six.
Running back Anthony Byrd, wide receiver Christian Drumgoole and offensive lineman Desmond Barnes made second-team D3Football.com all-region. Kicker/punter Braxtyn Green repeated as USA South specialist of the year.

The Battling Bishops are looking for a new defensive coordinator. Matt Adolph, who directed the Bishops’ defensive unit in 2024, has taken a job at D3 Juniata College, located in Pennsylvania.
North Carolina Wesleyan football begins spring practice on March 11. The Bishops don’t do an official spring game but will have 15 workouts, ending on Saturday, April 12. Weekday practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting at 4:10 p.m. Saturday practices will start at 7:30 a.m.
