Recruiting News & Nuggets
Cypher received his first Division I offer from Duke in June 2024 heading into his sophomore season. He has since accumulated two dozen Power 4 offers and has ascended to become one of the most sought after defensive prospects from North Carolina’s 2027 class.
Cypher narrowed his list down to four schools in mid-December – Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Miami. He took unofficial visits to all four during the 2025 season, as well as Duke and Clemson.
On3 Sports reports that Ohio State and Georgia are the likely leaders, with 247Sports giving a crystal ball prediction to Ohio State.
“What puts Georgia and Ohio State at the top are the type of programs they are,” Cypher told On3 for a recent story. They have great history with great coaches and great cultures. Year in and year out, they are national championship teams. They are constantly in the mix, and both are schools I could see myself playing for. Georgia was the first SEC school to offer me and both have been recruiting me extremely hard.”
