Lenoir-Rhyne, Elon and Gardner-Webb have picked up recent player commitments from out-of-state high school standouts. Here are details:

QB Chase Cromartie | Lenoir-Rhyne

Peachtree City, GA | McIntosh HS | Class of 2025

The 6-1, 165-pounder recently moved to Georgia from Viera, Fla. He was offered by the Bears in June and committed today (Aug. 13).

Lenoir-Rhyne will be getting a speedster. Cromartie won a state title in the 100 meters with a time of 10.46 and finished third in the 200 (21.67). “Big time speed and acceleration. Impressive arm and touch,” 247Sports.com writer Ben Moore posted on X after watching Cromartie earlier this month.

Cromartie also reported an offer from Keiser, where new Lenoir-Rhyne coach Doug Socha used to be before taking the Bears’ job. He also had an offer from Webber and visited Western Carolina in the spring.

He threw for more than 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns as a junior. He rushed for four more scores.

LB Ryder Duffy | Elon

Roswell, Ga. | Roswell HS | Class of 2025

The all-state middle linebacker from Georgia’s Roswell High announced his pledge for the Phoenix on social media on Aug. 7

Duffy finished his junior season with 132 tackles — the most in Georgia’s Class 6A — along with 16 tackles for loss, two sacks, five fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles and an interception.

He was voted honorable mention all-state and named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s All-North Fulton Team.

Duffy also reported offers from Navy, North Alabama and Cornell.

OL Brooks Kerwin | Gardner-Webb

Lexington, KY | Lexington Christian | Class of 2025

A three-year starter on an offensive line full of D1 prospects announced a pledge to Gardner-Webb in late July. Kerwin (6-3, 275) earned first-team All-District in both 2022 and ’23.

Lexington Christian finished 11-2 in 2023, winning a pair of state playoff games. Kerwin is listed on the (Lexington) Courier-Journal’s Kentucky high school “75 players to watch this fall” list heading into the new season.

“(Kerwin) is a can’t miss prospect! Has started every game the last two years against top competition and has allowed ZERO sacks in a pass heavy offense!” Lexington Christian offensive coordinator Oakley Watkins posted on X last fall. “Total package—relentless, polished and athletic! HIGH character and a LEADER!!”

Kerwin, who boasts a 4.33 GPA, also reported offers from Davidson, Tennessee-Martin (which plays in Gardner-Webb’s conference), Eastern Kentucky, Wayne State, Marian University and Kentucky Wesleyan.
