Scroll through Breyson Palmer’s social media and you’ll see plenty of video highlights of the Millbrook High senior practicing kicks and field goals.
Winter and spring workouts. Summer camps. Even footage of him perfecting his craft amid palm trees on a vacation trip to Puerto Rico.
Palmer’s talents and attention to detail have opened the door for him to kick at the collegiate level. He announced on those same social media channels Wednesday night that he has committed to Davidson College.
The Wildcats, who play in the FCS Pioneer Football League, offered Palmer to join their Class of 2025 earlier this month. Palmer boasts a GPA of 3.97.
As a junior at Millbrook, Palmer put 44 of 65 kickoffs into the end zone. He was perfect on six PAT attempts.
Palmer made two extra points in Millbrook’s opener last Friday and kicked off three times (57.0 yard average). Millbrook beat Apex Friendship 17-13.
Millbrook has the luxury of two college-caliber kickers on its roster. Palmer shares kicking duties with fellow senior Angel Gomez, who hit a 22-yard field goal in the win over Apex Friendship.
