Shaw University unveiled its 2024 football schedule earlier this week on social media. The Bears currently have a 10-game slate, which will include eight games against CIAA foes.

Shaw will open the season on a Thursday night, Sept. 5, at Albany State. The home opener will come the following Saturday, Sept. 14, when Catawba from the South Atlantic Conference visits.

The rest of the calendar will feature CIAA games. The Bears draw Lincoln, Virginia Union and Bluefield State from the Northern Division. Shaw will then visit fellow Southern Division rivals Johnson C. Smith, Winston-Salem State and Fayetteville State on back-to-back-to-back October Saturdays.

The season will conclude with homecoming on Nov. 2 against Livingstone and the annual battle with St. Augustine’s at home on Nov. 9.

Shaw is coming off a 3-7 campaign, 2-5 against CIAA foes. Among the highlights were a 21-10 upset of Johnson C. Smith on homecoming and a 21-14 triumph over St. Aug’s the close the campaign.
