Western Carolina’s football team has the most productive offense in the state of North Carolina after six weeks of games.

The Catamounts (5-1 overall, 3-0 Southern Conference) lead the Old North State — across all divisions — in total yards, yards-per-game, yards-per-play and offensive touchdowns.

WCU is the first team from the state to reach 3,000 total yards. The Catamounts have 3,191 heading into their bye week, averaging 531.8 yards per contest. That average is first in the FCS, with Montana State coming in second (503.4).

Western gains 7.69 yards per play and has found the end zone 32 times on offensive plays.

The North Carolina Tar Heels (5-0, 2-0 ACC) have the next most prolific offense, averaging an even 500 yards per game, ninth in FBS.

Davidson sits just behind WCU in yards-per-play, picking up 7.48 per snap. The Wildcats (3-2, 2-0 Pioneer) have the third-most productive offense in FCS and the second-most prolific rushing attack (313 ypg).

Davidson and Campbell (3-3, 2-2 CAA) each have 30 offensive touchdowns. North Carolina Central (5-1, 0-0 MEAC) has scored 28 offensive touchdowns.

Here are offensive stats from each of the state’s 35 college football teams, sorted by yards-per-game, yards-per-play and offensive touchdowns:
