Who is the coach of Wingate football?
Long-time defensive coordinator Rashaan Jordan took over for Joe Reich as head coach of the Wingate Bulldogs in 2024. Jordan’s first team finished 9-2 and won the South Atlantic Conference championship.
What is the name of Wingate’s football stadium?
Wingate football and lacrosse teams play in Irwin Belk Stadium, a 3,500-seat facility on campus. The stadium opened in 1998.
How many Wingate football players have been drafted by an NFL team?
As of spring 2025, two Wingate football players have been drafted by NFL teams. Cornerback David “Jam Hands” Jones was selected by the New Orleans Saints in 2007. Jones picked off 15 passes during his collegiate career. Punter Ethan Evans was picked by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round in 2023. Evans punted and handled kickoffs all four years at Wingate. He kicked extra points and field goals as a senior.
