Just days before Campbell’s spring football game, the Camels have lost their top returning wide receiver. First-team all-conference wideout Sincere Brown announced Monday on X that he intends to transfer.

The spring transfer portal window officially opens April 16 and closes April 25.

Brown, a 6-foot-5 redshirt senior, was the only FCS receiver in North Carolina to surpass 1,000 yards last season. He hauled in 61 catches for 1,028 yards and 12 touchdowns, ranking fourth nationally in receiving TDs and 12th in yards.

His decision may be a jolt after he reassured Camels fans in December, posting: “Campbell Nation ……………9 is back💰😎” on X. He was also featured in recent social media promos for Campbell’s spring game, set for this Saturday, March 22.

🚨MARCH 18 UPDATE: Sincere Brown posted on X that Campbell has officially notified the NCAA of his intention to transfer. He has since reported multiple Power 4 offers, including from Bill Belichick and the UNC Tar Heels, Louisville, Utah, West Virginia and California, two FBS programs in Power 4 conferences.

🚨MARCH 19 UPDATE: Two other Campbell wide receivers have indicated on social media they intend to transfer: graduate Brandon Fitez (Almonte Springs, Fla.) and graduate Javonte Kinsey (Jacksonville, Fla.). Fitez made 13 catches a year ago for 150 yards and no touchdowns. Kinsey only saw action in three games last season, without making a catch. He had eight catches for 88 yards and a touchdown in 2023

Campbell lost (and gained) multiple transfers during the earlier portal cycle. Five former Camels committed to FBS programs over the winter, including former wideout VJ Wilkins, who inked with Boston College.

Brown and Wilkins (510 yards, 6 TDs) were the Camels’ top two receivers in 2024. Brown says he intends to graduate from Campbell in May.

With the various departures, Campbell’s wide receiver room includes just one player with more than 100 receiving yards a year ago: sophomore Randall King (Rocky Mount | Northern Nash HS). King made 30 catches a season ago for 413 yards and two touchdowns.
