Circle your calendars: Composite 2024 college football schedule for North Carolina

34 programs. 303 total games. 186 contests played within our state’s borders. Let’s go!

The release of 2024 college football schedules across North Carolina campuses has been a slow drip since January.

But with summer on our doorstep, we finally have completed schedules for all 34 of North Carolina’s college and university football teams. Many of the kickoff times have been announced, along with TV and streaming coverage availability.

There will be tweaks along the way and more TV announcements. Also, a few games may yet be moved off their current dates to accommodate television (ECU and Charlotte, for instance, won’t know until mid-October whether their post-Thanksgiving season finales will be on Friday or Saturday).

We’ve compiled a composite North Carolina College Football Master Schedule (posted below). We’ll fill in the scores once the season starts. (CHECK OUT the final scores of every 2023 game here).

Before we list all the games, here are some notables on the 2024 season:

* 303 total regular season games have been scheduled for North Carolina teams

* 186 games will be played within the confines of the Old North State

* Sept. 14 will be busiest weekend for fans attending games within North Carolina’s borders. There will be 20 games in-state that Saturday — the most of the season. All seven FBS teams will be in-state, with six at home (App visits ECU). All five D3 teams will play in-state, with four at home (Methodist visits Guilford).

* Sept. 14 is the only weekend where NC State, Duke, Wake Forest and North Carolina play at home on the same day. None play on the first Saturday of the season, Sept. 1. That’s because all four play either Thursday or Friday that week.

* North Carolina teams will play on a variety of TV and streaming platforms: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN+, ACC Network, ACC Network Xtra, Fox Sports, FS1, CBS Sports Network, The CW, HBCU Go, FloSports.

* The season will begin with five Thursday games on Aug. 29, including two intrastate clashes — North Carolina A&T at Wake Forest and Western Carolina at NC State. Elon will play at Duke on Friday, Aug. 20.

* North Carolina Central and Johnson C. Smith will play games on Sunday, Sept. 1. The Eagles take on Alabama State in Miami, while the Golden Bulls face Tuskegee in Montgomery, Ala.

* All told, North Carolina teams will play 13 games on Thursday and five on Friday. Duke will play under the Friday night lights twice, hosting Florida State on Oct. 18 in addition to the Elon game.
