Davidson has added another three-game series with Virginia Military Institute to its future football schedules, according to FBSchedules.com.

The Wildcats, who played the Keydets last season and are set to play them again in 2026, have scheduled new games against the Southern Conference school for 2029, 2031 and 2032.

The two schools have a long history, dating back to the first meeting on Sept. 1, 1904. They played almost yearly from the late 1920s into the mid-1970s.

VMI owns a 41-17-3 advantage all-time and has won the past 12 games. Davidson’s last win came on Sept. 16, 1972, an 18-14 triumph in Lexington, Va.

The ‘Cats and Keydets played in a defensive struggle last Sept. 2, with VMI scoring in the final minute to secure a 12-7 triumph.

Davidson, a member of the non-scholarship Pioneer Football League, will play three non-conference games this season: hosting Catawba and Point, and visiting Georgetown. VMI is the only non-conference opponent on future schedules.
