Guilford College’s 2024 football schedule will feature an early-season “bowl” game, a September homecoming and a home-and-home with a conference partner.

The Quakers released a 10-game schedule this week that includes five total home games and seven Old Dominion Athletic Conference contests.

The season kicks off with the annual Gate City Soup Bowl against Greensboro College on Saturday, Sept. 7. The annual crosstown showdown helps raise money for local charities. This year’s contest will be at Greensboro and will kick off at noon.

Guilford will play its home opener Sept. 14 when Methodist visits. Homecoming follows the next weekend, Sept. 21, when Shenandoah comes to town. Shenandoah plays in the ODAC with Guilford, but this game will not count in the conference standings.

The official conference meeting between Guilford and Shenandoah will be Oct. 26 in Virginia.

Guilford will play on the road three times in October, also traveling to Hampden-Sydney and Randolph-Macon. The lone home game in October comes against Washington & Lee.

November will see two home games (Ferrum and Bridgewater) and one road game at Averett.

The Ferrum game on Nov. 11 will be Hall of Fame Day for Guilford. Senior Day will come against Bridgewater on Nov. 16.

Guilford is coming off a 2-8 season in 2023. The Quakers beat Greensboro and Methodist in September but struggled once the conference season started. Randolph-Macon advanced to the Division III semifinals from the ODAC.
