The 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 was released this week, and 44 draft-eligible players from North Carolina college programs made the watch list for the prestigious all-star game.

Scouts for the Shrine Bowl 1000 scoured all divisions of play, including FCS, D2 and D3, to compile the list.

Elon’s Khalil Baker (S) and Chandler Brayboy (WR) made Shrine Bowl 1000 from the FCS ranks, along with Campbell’s Isaiah Green (CB) and North Carolina A&T’s Karon Prunty (CB).

Lenoir-Rhyne’s Andre Jefferson (DL) was the only NCAA Division II player from North Carolina to make the Shrine Bowl 1000.

The North Carolina Tar Heels had the most watch-list players from our state with 12. Among other FBS schools, NC State had 9, Wake Forest 5, Appalachian State 4, Duke 4, Charlotte 3 and East Carolina 2.

“Every year, approximately 1,000 all-star game eligible players are drafted, signed after the draft, or attend a rookie mini-camp,” s press release on the Shrine Bowl 1000 stated. “Our aim is for this Shrine Bowl 1000 to serve as a look into our scouting process, as well as begin to preview college players who are currently all-star game eligible for the 2024 East-West Shrine Bowl and 2024 NFL Draft class.

“Putting together this list was extremely challenging for our team, as we scouted players from all four levels of football and consulted with NFL and college personnel to ensure the selection of the best 1000 players for the NFL level.”
