North Carolina Wesleyan’s Braxtyn Green took home the USA South’s top special teams honor for the second year in a row.

The sophomore from Live Oak, Fla. (Suwannee HS) was voted first-team all-conference as a punter, second-team all-conference as a placekicker and the overall conference Special Teams Player of the Year.

Green made 11 of 14 field goals during the season for the Division III Battling Bishops, with a long kick of 43 yards against both Southern Virginia and Brevard. He averaged 42.6 yards per punt, tops in the USA South. Nine of his punts sailed more than 50 yards – including a 71-yarder against Huntingdon – while 10 landed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.

He went 3-for-3 in field goals in games against LaGrange and Brevard, with his final two kicks against the Tornados sealing a 30-24 upset. He finished 21-of-25 in PATs and ended the season with 54 points scored.

As a freshman Green also won USA South Special Teams Player of the Year honors, making seven field goals and 18 PATs. During 2023, Green made a school-record 51-yard field goal.
