Chip Hester has been the coach of the Barton Bulldogs since 2020. He has compiled a 17-21 record in five seasons with the program as of the finish of 2024. A high school graduate of Millbrook (Raleigh) in 1993, Hester formerly coached Catawba from 2002-12.

What is the name of Barton’s football stadium?

The Barton Bulldogs play football at Electric Supply Company Field at Truist Stadium in Wilson. The capacity is 3,500.

When did Barton first start playing football?

The football program played its first season in 1920, when the school was known as Atlantic Christian College. The school fielded teams from 1920-30 and 1946-50 before disbanding the program. Led by school president Doug Searcy, Barton revived its football program in time for the 2020 season, its first in 70 years.

Has Barton won a conference championship in football?

Barton has not won a conference championship in football as of the end of the 2024 season. The Bulldogs’ best finish in the SAC was fourth place in 2023.

Does Barton have any players in the NFL?

Wide receiver Kameron Johnson (Rocky Mount | Northern Nash HS), who played at Barton College from 2020-23, made the 53-man roster of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2024.
