North Carolina’s Division III football teams have another week to wait before beginning the 2026 season, with four of the state’s five D3 programs opening play Sept. 4-5.
The opening weekend includes the annual Soup Bowl rivalry between Guilford and Greensboro, while Methodist hosts Shenandoah and North Carolina Wesleyan visits Averett. Brevard is idle before opening its season Sept. 12 against Sewanee.
