Johnson C. Smith, Davidson, Wingate, Charlotte 49ers, etc.
🏙️ Triad / Piedmont

🏔️ Western North Carolina
Western Carolina, Mars Hill, Brevard
📝 What’s Involved
- Cover one game most Saturdays (possibly some midweek features/profiles/blurbs for our newsletter)
- Write a compelling recap or notebook-style story with top performers and coach/player quotes
- We’ll provide editorial guidance and examples
- Photography is a plus, but not required
- Our focus is primarily on FCS, Division II and Division III programs across North Carolina but there may be opportunities to cover FBS games.
💼 Pay & Professionalism
- Modest pay is available for selected weekly roles
- We can help with media credentials if needed
- We’re looking for folks to help tell real football stories with journalistic integrity and objectivity – not fan blog opinion pieces
- This is an ideal opportunity for college journalists, aspiring sportswriters ages 18+ or veteran writers looking to stay active and involved. If you love college football, can meet deadlines and enjoy turning a phrase, we’d love to talk.
