- QB Landen Clark rushes for a late touchdown, and Elon wins a high-scoring, back-and-forth game at Western Carolina. Clark has four TDs on the day, 2 rushing and 2 passing.
- WCU, ranked 18th to start the season, is now 0-3. Elon improves to 2-1.

✅ North Carolina FCS Wrap-Up
Biggest Win of the Day
For most of the afternoon it looked like Elon would own this spot. The Phoenix outlasted Western Carolina 37-31 in a wild back-and-forth shootout, avenging last year’s heartbreaking loss on their own home turf. But North Carolina A&T stole the show late Saturday evening, snapping a 12-game losing streak with a 33-30 double-overtime thriller against Hampton. It was the Aggies’ first win under new coach Shawn Gibbs and their first victory since Sept. 2024.
Standout Performance
Elon quarterback Landen Clark shook off his first pair of turnovers this season and delivered when it mattered most. The sophomore led the game-winning touchdown drive with under five minutes left and set career highs across the board: 305 passing yards, 72 rushing yards and 377 total yards, per Elon sports information. His four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) matched last week’s showing against Davidson.
Upset of the Day
It doesn’t get much sweeter than what happened in Greensboro. NC A&T entered as more than a touchdown underdog, winless in its last 12 games and likely still smarting from a blowout loss to Hampton in last year’s homecoming. But these Aggies showed guts and grit. Kicker Andrew Brown — who had a potential game-tying kick blocked in the season opener — drilled a clutch field goal in the final minute to force overtime. In double OT, running back Wesley Graves punched in a 5-yard score after Hampton settled for a field goal, setting off a long-awaited celebration at Truist Stadium.
