Illinois: Starting right guard Brandon Henderson will not play Saturday because of a lower-leg injury. Illinois coach Bret Bielema said Henderson could miss anywhere from two to six weeks. Henderson is the Illini’s only returning starter on the offensive line.
Wide receiver Jayshon Platt also will not play against Duke. Linebacker Daniel Brown could return, with Bielema saying Monday there is a chance Brown will be available.
Duke: Reserve offensive lineman Roman Fina is out for the season. No new injury information was announced earlier in the week.

The Illini are coming off consecutive nine-win seasons for the first time in program history, while Duke won nine games in both 2024 and 2025, just the second time the Blue Devils have accomplished that feat in consecutive seasons.

Nate Sheppard enters as one of the nation’s hottest running backs. The Duke running back rushed for 227 yards against Tulane, the fifth-highest single-game total in program history and the most by an FBS player in a game so far this season.

The Blue Devils own the longest active winning streak among North Carolina’s college football teams, dating back to last season. Duke closed 2025 with four straight victories, including an ACC championship victory over Virginia and a bowl win against Arizona State before beating Tulane 17-3 in this year’s opener. Saturday will be Duke’s first road game of 2026.
