One of the top receivers in North Carolina high school football in 2023 has made his 2025 gridiron plans official.

Middle Creek senior wideout Braylon Stewart announced on social media he has committed to Furman. The Paladins play in the FCS Southern Conference and enter 2024 ranked No. 7 in Lindy’s Sports preseason top 25.

Stewart had 1,186 receiving yards for the Apex school last season, listed as the 14th best in the state on MaxPreps.com. The speedster recorded 16 touchdowns. He was named honorable mention all-state special teams by HighSchoolOT after returning two kicks for touchdowns and averaging 34.6 yards on 11 returns.

Here’s how recruiting guru Tom Lemming evaluated the 6-1, 180-pounder earlier this year: “Another North Carolina player to keep an eye on his Braylon Stewart … Shows a good pair of hands, runs well and catches everything within his frame. Class of 2025 – he is a rising star. GPA is 3.3.”

Stewart also reported offers from Campbell, Gardner-Webb, Austin Peay, Charleston Southern, Bryant, Bucknell, Mercer, Wofford, Richmond, Cornell and New Hampshire.
