🔍 What to Watch

North Carolina Central has been our state’s most consistent and most successful FCS programs during the 2020s. The Eagles are coming off an 8-4 season in 2025 but lost elite production on both sides of the ball, including one of the school’s top passers (Walker Harris). NCCU also has had to replace its offensive and defensive coordinators along with three other position coaches.

Texas Southern (6-5 in 2025) represents a competitive opponent for NCCU coach Trei Oliver’s retooled roster. Expect some growing pains and learning moments for the newest group of Eagles.

After this trip to Houston, NCCU will face five North Carolina opponents in a row and won’t leave the state until a date at Delaware State on Oct. 24.
