One of the Piedmont Triad’s most productive defenders is staying in-state. Eastern Alamance defensive lineman Trint Totten has committed to Elon for 2027, choosing the Phoenix over offers from East Carolina, North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central.
Totten enjoyed a monster 2025 season for Eastern Alamance, recording 136 total tackles, 26 tackles-for-loss, 15.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries and three forced fumbles.
The 6-2, 245-pound rising senior from Mebane was voted Mid-Carolina 4A/5A/6A Defensive Player of the Year. He also was named third-team all-state from HighSchoolOT.
Totten began 2025 with an 18-tackle performance against Eastern Guilford and never slowed down. The impressive season opener also included 11 solo stops, three tackles-for-loss and two sacks. During 2025, Totten had eight games with at least 11 tackles, including a pair of 14-tackle contests (Southeast Alamance and Hunt).
Totten is Elon’s 13th commitment for the Class of 2027 and the sixth player from a North Carolina high school program. Only East Carolina (8) has more in-state pledges for 2027 than Elon. NC State and Campbell also have six in-state commits.

Hill, who plays for Prince Avenue Christian, caught 49 passes for 703 yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
