The 2025 Catawba football schedule will feature 11 games this fall, including 10 against South Atlantic Conference foes and six under the lights at Shuford Stadium.

The Indians became the second SAC school from our state to release their schedule within the past week, joining Lenoir-Rhyne

Catawba will enter year three of the Tyler Haines coaching era. The team will kick off the new season in what is considered “week zero” for Division II schools – hosting Ferrum at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Panthers, from Virginia, will make the move from D3 to D2 starting this year, joining Conference Carolinas.

From there, it is all conference action for Catawba, with one bye on Saturday, Oct. 18. After dropping to 11 teams following 2024, the South Atlantic eliminated divisional play. Every conference team will play a round-robin league schedule this fall.

Catawba’s conference loops will include home games against UVA Wise, Limestone, Mars Hill, Tusculum and Anderson. Tusculum on Oct. 25 will be homecoming for the Salisbury school. The Anderson game will be senior day and Hall of Fame day.

All six Catawba home games will kick off at 6 p.m. this season.

Road opponents in the SAC include Emory & Henry, Newberry, Wingate, Carson-Newman and long-time rival Lenoir-Rhyne on the final Saturday.

Catawba finished 3-8 a season ago, 2-7 against South Atlantic opponents. The Indians won an exciting 44-41 overtime game over Anderson, which included a 329-yard, five-touchdown performance from running back L.J. Turner, who is now at West Virginia.

Catawba was hard-luck in a number of other close games, losing five contests by six points or fewer – including a 35-34 defeat to eventual Mountain Division champion Carson-Newman. The season ended with a pleasing 47-15 trouncing of Tusculum.
