- The newest FBS rivalry in our state, Charlotte-vs.-East Carolina, takes center stage in Greenville as the 49ers look to stay perfect against the Pirates.

- Another D3 rivalry doubleheader: This week Brevard hosts North Carolina Wesleyan and Greensboro welcomes Methodist.
- South Carolina State clinched a MEAC title last season with a win over North Carolina Central. The Eagles will have home field advantage for this year’s rematch.
- Nice set of ACC stretch-run games: NC State at Miami, UNC at Wake, Virginia at Duke

- D2 playoffs and D3 playoffs start this week. How many teams from the Old North State will be in the expanded D2 bracket (32 teams)? Can we get a D3 team into the field this year?

- The FCS playoffs move to round two, while the D2 bracket will be trimmed to four teams this weekend. The D3 playoffs continue.

ποΈ Postseason Highlights (Dec. 12-End of Season)
- Bowl games. Lots and lots of bowl games. Can we get all seven North Carolina teams making bowl plans this year? It’s never happened before.
- Do we dare dream of rooting on a North Carolina team (or two!) in the College Football Playoff? Games start Dec. 19-20 and conclude with the CFP championship on Monday, Jan. 19 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.
- FCS playoffs will continue with quarterfinals (Dec. 12-13), semifinals (Dec. 20) and championship game (Monday, Jan. 5).
- The D2 championship will be Saturday, Dec. 20 in McKinney, Texas.
- The D3 championship (the Stagg Bowl) will be held either Jan. 9 or 10 in Canton, Ohio
