The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its annual preseason poll this week, and Guilford College football has been picked seventh, tied with Ferrum College.
Guilford finished 2-8 a year ago, 1-6 in league play.
The Quakers open the season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Greensboro College in the annual Gate City Soup Bowl. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 30 as Guilford faces the preseason favorites, Randolph-Macon Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon earned a conference-best 49 points in the conference poll, powered by seven first-place votes. Bridgewater College garnered the remaining top nod on the way to 39 marks to sit second. Washington and Lee University rounds out the top-three with 31 tallies.
Guilford is looking for its first winning season since the 2015 bunch went 9-1. Brad Davis returns as the Quakers’ head coach.
