North Carolina College Football Top Stat Performers – Week 6 Games (Oct. 3–4, 2025)

Western Carolina quarterback Taron Dickens broke an NCAA completions record, while Gardner-Webb’s Charles Viorel broke Charleston Southern’s heart with a game-winning kick at the buzzer.

Guilford swarmed the Gallaudet backfield, while Christopher Perkins helped rush Elizabeth City State into the win column for the first time this season.

Here are the Week 6 North Carolina college football stat leaders for games played Oct. 3-4, 2025.


Individual Passing Leaders (350+ Yards)

🏈 Top quarterback passing performances across all divisions of North Carolina college football – Week 6.

  • 378 – Taron Dickens (Western Carolina): 53-of-56, 3 TDs, 0 INT, long pass of 27 yards at Wofford
  • 354 – Tre Robinson (UNC Pembroke): 25-of-33, 6 TDs, 1 INT at Erskine

Season High: 582 Yards – Taron Dickens, Western Carolina (Week 4 at Samford)

Dickens earned ESPN “helmet sticker” recognition and has been collecting national honors for breaking the NCAA record for most consecutive completions (46). The previous record had been 36 in a row. Read more about Dickens’ historic feat, which resulted in a key conference win for the Catamounts.


Individual Rushing Leaders (100+ Yards)

  • 173 – Kevin Lalin (Catawba): 25 rushes, 1 TD, long rush of 26 yards, 6.9 yards per carry vs. Mars Hill
  • 144 – Caleb Robles (Guilford): 19 rushes, 4 TDs, long rush of 51 yards, 7.6 yards per carry vs. Gallaudet
  • 128 – Christopher Perkins (Elizabeth City State): 16 rushes, 1 TD, long rush of 73 yards, 8.0 yards per carry vs. Livingstone

Season High: 194 Yards – Rashod Dubinion, Appalachian State (Week 2 vs. Lindenwood)

Six players rushed for 100+ yards in Week 6. So far this season, there have been 45 100-yard games by NC rushers.


Individual Receiving Leaders (100+ Yards)

🏈 Top receiving performances across all divisions of North Carolina college football – Week 6.

  • 155 – Ivan Hoyt (Davidson): 8 catches, 3 TDs, long reception of 59 yards, 19.4 yards per catch at Stetson
  • 151 – Jahari Mitchell (Winston-Salem State): 5 catches, 3 TDs, long reception of 46 yards, 30.2 yards per catch vs. Virginia Union
  • 140 – Davion Dozier (Appalachian State): 4 catches, 1 TD, long reception of 68 yards, 35.0 yards per catch vs. Oregon State

Season High: 228 Yards – E. Jai Mason, Charlotte (Week 3 vs. Monmouth)

Ten pass-catchers earned at least 100 yards in receptions this week. UNC Pembroke’s Jaquan Albright had the most catches – 11 – for 129 yards with two TDs.


Individual Tackling Leaders (12+ Tackles)

  • 15.0 – Evan Powell (Winston-Salem State): 6 solos, 9 assists vs. Virginia Union
  • 14.0 – Letraskey Pressley (Louisburg): 3 solos, 11 assists vs. Georgia Military College
  • 6 players with 12.0 tackles – Evan Simons (Catawba) had the most solo tackles with 8 in a win vs. Mars Hill

Season High: 24 Tackles – Nick Iannone, Guilford (Week 4 vs. Washington & Lee)

Iannone, our season leader, had 10 tackles in the Quakers win over Gallaudet, which only ran 50 offensive plays.


Individual Tackles-For-Loss Leaders (3.0+ TFL)

🏈 Most tackles-for-loss (TFL) across all divisions of North Carolina college football – Week 6.

  • 4.5 – Travis Burton (Guilford): 17 yards in losses at Gallaudet
  • 4.0 – Cam’Ron Webster (Methodist): 21 yards in losses vs. Huntingdon
  • 3.5 – Nick Iannone (Guilford): 14 yards in losses at Gallaudet
  • 3.5 – Wesley Williams (Duke): 11 yards in losses vs. California

Season High: 5.5 TFLs – Jamieson Alston, Winston-Salem State (Week 5 at Bowie State)

Travis Burton was voted the ODAC Defensive Player of the Week after his stellar performance for Guilford at Gallaudet.


Individual Sacks Leaders (2.0+ Sacks)

🏈 Most sacks across all divisions of North Carolina college football – Week 6.

  • 3.5 – Travis Burton (Guilford): 16 yards in losses at Gallaudet
  • 2.5 – Nick Iannone (Guilford): 13 yards in losses at Gallaudet
  • 2.0 – Evan Simons (Catawba): 28 yards in losses vs. Mars Hill
  • 2.0 – Elliott Schaper (Duke): 23 yards in losses at Cal

Season High: 4.0 Sacks – Kenyon Garner, Livingstone (Week 4 vs. Bowie State)

Guilford had a total of eight sacks in its 55-0 win at Gallaudet.


Interceptions Leaders (2+ INTs)

🏈 Players with more than 1 interception in a single game in North Carolina college football – Week 6.

  • 2 – Jonathan Brown (Guilford): 35 yards in returns at Gallaudet
  • 2 – Desmond Greene (Lenoir-Rhyne): 34 yards in returns at Valdosta State
  • 2 – Tycorien Gist (Louisburg): 15 yards in returns vs. Georgia Military College

Season High: Ten North Carolina college players have made two interceptions in a game. Louisburg’s Gist has had two games this season with multiple interceptions. Teammate Trevyn Smith also had a game with two picks. 


Most Kicker Points (10+)

🏈 Kickers with the most points from field goals and PATs in North Carolina college football – Week 6

  • 12 Points – Charles Viorel (Gardner-Webb): 3-3 FGs, 3-3 PATs, long FG of 48 yards vs. Charleston Southern
  • 12 Points – Conner Calvert (Wake Forest): 3-3 FGs, 3-3 PATs, long FG of 33 yards at Virginia Tech
  • 10 Points – Andrew Brown (North Carolina A&T): 2-2 FGs, 4-4 PATs, long FG of 42 yards at William & Mary

Season High: 16 Points – Jadon Moore, Louisburg (Week 1 vs. Central Georgia Tech)

GWU’s Viorel hit a 48-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Runnin’ Bulldogs past Charleston Southern 30-27. Viorel was named the OVC/Big South Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts.


Longest Offensive Scoring Plays (60+ Yards)

🏈 Top offensive scoring plays in North Carolina college football – Week 6

  • 73 Yards – Christopher Perkins (Elizabeth City State): 73-yard TD run vs. Livingstone
  • 67 Yards – Tavion Jackson (Livingstone): 67-yard TD reception from Elijah Alexander
  • 63 Yards – Michael Pannell (North Carolina Wesleyan): 63-yard TD reception from Javier Rice

Season High: 91 Yard Pass Reception – Ka’Trez Bracey from Christopher Perkins, Elizabeth City State (Week 3 vs. Johnson C. Smith)

Perkins’ TD run played a key role in ECSU’s first win of the season against Livingstone. Elizabeth City State has the weekly longest offensive scoring play and the season-long longest scoring play.


Longest Defensive Scoring Plays

🏈 Top defensive scoring plays in North Carolina college football – Week 6

  • 56 Yards – Guy Taylor (Wingate): 56-yard interception return TD at Newberry 
  • 20 Yards – Jamari Slade (Fayetteville State): 20-yard interception return TD at Bowie State

Season High: Three players have 62-yard defensive touchdowns to lead the state – Mikai Gbayor, UNC, fumble return (Week 3 vs. Richmond); Jamorius Wilson, Louisburg, interception return (Week 3 vs. Hudson Valley CC); Zavion Lloyd, Livingstone, interception return (Week 2 at Allen).

Defensive scores have been at a premium this season. We’ve only had 22 thus far, and nine of those plays have resulted in safeties.


Longest Special Teams Scoring Plays

🏈 Top special teams scoring plays in North Carolina college football – Week 6

We had no special teams touchdowns this week. We have only had 13 all season.

Season High: 100 Yards – Isaiah Perry, Johnson C. Smith, kickoff return (Week 5 vs. Bluefield State).


Longest Field Goals (48+ Yards)

🏈 Field goal kickers who hit from 48 yards or longer in North Carolina college football – Week 6

  • 49 Yards – Dominic De Freitas (Appalachian State): vs. Oregon State
  • 48 Yards – Charles Viorel (Gardner-Webb): vs. Charleston Southern

Season Long: 49 Yards De Freitas joined three others who have hit from 49 this season: Rece Verhoff, North Carolina (Week 2 at Charlotte); Andrew Brown, North Carolina A&T (Week 3 vs. Hampton) and John Hernandez-Vargas, Fayetteville State (Week 4 at ECSU).


Team High Scores

🏈 Who scored the most points in North Carolina college football – Week 6

  • 56 points – NC State: 56-10 win vs. Campbell
  • 55 points – Guilford: 55-0 win at Gallaudet
  • 45 points – Duke: 45-21 late-night win at California

Season High: 72 Points – Wingate, 72-7 win over Bluefield State, Week 3

Guilford scored the biggest shutout win of the season in our state, overwhelming Gallaudet on the road.
